Prepare Your Vehicle for Colder Weather Ahead

While we're all settling into fall, the next thing you know, it's going to be winter. It's just a fact of life around Jackson, OH and beyond. Here at Mark Porter Ford, we're already starting to get our preparations ready, and so should you. That's why it's time to start thinking about how to prep your vehicle for cold weather.

You'll want to make sure that your service is up to date, that's the first thing. You should check in regarding your oil and filter levels, and if you need them changed, and you should also check to make sure your heating unit is working as well. You will also want to check on your tire pressure, wheel alignments and rotate your tires if needed. Also, if you are someone who uses winter tires to ensure you have better traction in snowy and icy weather, we can install those for you, or provide you with treads to purchase, as well.

In addition to getting your vehicle ready to drive well, you should be prepared in different ways, too. Your trunk or cargo area could certainly benefit from having a shovel stored in back if you have to clear a path for yourself or dig out after a snowstorm. Some sand for added traction if you're stuck also is helpful. In addition, you should be prepared with a first aid kit, and have blankets in case something happens and you need warmth.

Hopefully, these tips have you in the mindset to start thinking about preparing your vehicle for winter and the cold. If you have any questions or want to schedule a service appointment with us contact us at Mark Porter Ford today and we'd be happy to help you.
